Reviews
Great spot with very helpful warm and friendly staff. The café is great and I love the outdoor area. The food is lovely, to be fair pricey but sadly we're isn't. I'd happily recommend a visit
Had a disappointing experience in the cafe today. Our food arrived and the kitchen had prepared an extra sandwich. When the food arrived at the table the member of staff set down 2 portions of fries then quickly snatched one back. Saying we had only ordered one. It was pointed out that we did order one between 2 of us with sandwiches but that the lasagne came with fries. She then admitted her mistake and went for the extra sandwich to take it away. The staff are normally very friendly but this must have been the Grinch working today.
Customer service is the difference between repeat business and bad reviews.
Came for breakfast .. had to queue up like I was in a dinner line in school, (I was then getting frustrated incase someone would jump the line)
Anyway,
classic breakfast fry was ok, breads a bit greasy.
I then returned the queue after my meal was finished to order a desert of apple pie and custard as it had said it was famous for this, And no wonder at £6.49 a slice it's the most expensive also, when going to pay I then was told the small side of custard/cream/ice cream was an extra so it came to £7.78 I was stunned. Especially when the main meal I had ordered was £8.85.
I felt I had to eat the plate with how much they are charging.
I soon got over it and we laughed about it .. until .. we exited through the shop and I seen a fridge selling the products from the cafe and you can buy a small apple pie at around 12" diameter for £5.49 ... Ruined my day ..felt like I was mugged as I walked to the car in the rain. Not sure i will sleep tonight but one thing I do know if I'm ever in the situation of returning I will buy my full size pie in the shop and bring it to my table and eat a full pie for less than the slice.
Thankyou
As with its sister garden centre, Galgorm Castle is well organised with loads of interesting and quirky gifts and plants. Queues in the cafe are slow - no idea why that is. Much prefer the Donaghadee cafe layout as it’s much brighter and the seating isn’t in rows so feels more open and spacious
Enjoyed dropping in to visit yesterday, really well laid out, with excellent stock generally, prices are pretty dear on many items when compared with other locations, great to have the cafe and respectful organisation for social distancing and clean toilets 👍 …
Impressive garden centre - I love to walk around looking at all the beautiful plants and wondering how long they would last if I bought one, usually I pardon them all from certain demise and end up in their wonderful cafe with a slice of delicious pie that would fill two people and equally delicious coffee.
Great place to go & have a coffee, do a bit of shopping etc. If you're looking for plants it's disappointing, not a nursery and poor selection for anyone who's a plantsman.
I always enjoy a visit to this amazing garden centre. Both for the garden stock but also for the first class cafe with it's range of savory and sweet😍 …
Very nicely laid out and it's great to have a children's play area. Also located in a great spot to have a walk around and explore
Very well stocked Garden Centre. Good display of garden plants and vegetables. They also cary a good stock of garden tools and pots. Also garden furniture. Nice wide walks and well laid out mostly roofed over. Good staff and ample parking. There is also a restaurant, I have never been in it but gets a good name.
